Day 12 – THE church – kids & young people

”People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them” Mark 10:13-16

Kids are important to God – then they are important for me too!
After a large gathering for all kids last autumn we were sat on the floor on blankets in one of the church venues. We had been teaching about “the lost sheep and coin”. Jesus wanted to find all the people to invite to the cele- bration! The kids had been able to walk around different prayer stations and pray that their class mates, friends and family would be found by Jesus. We sat in the light of some cool lighting with great worship music from Hillsong in the background. We treated them to freshly peeled and sliced fruit in a desire to illustrate the party Jesus

is preparing for us. I sat down next to a sibling pair and straight away the 6 year old girl starts preaching for me! Annelee, it ́s important that all people get to know Jesus and come to the party! Her hand is clenched in the air, it ́s so important to her. Her eyes are focused and no playing or mischief is in sight. This is really serious business. She had just recently been jumping and hopping around to

a dance game. But now there is a serious tone regarding the salvation of friends. What love for others!
Let us learn from our kids and be like them instead of just allowing life to be turned in grey shades that age and experience give us. Kids can sense the needs today in various ways. They carry many times the same sense of responsibility as an adult. Let us together head towards Jesus and be touched by Him! /Annelee Thorstensson

Prayer

– That our church would be fertile soil for the young to grow.
– All families would live in the power of Jesus as Saviour, physician, restorer, protector, comforter, LORD!
– That the kids will receive a personal relationship with Jesus.

– Protection of their fauth throughout life.
