What are you missing?…

You might not know what you are missing until you find it again…

Life goes on, day by day. Everything feels just fine and the way it should.

What if you in fact are missing something, something very important? How do you know? You might not know until you finally find it again.

It happened to me two years ago… I had found the man of my life 8 years earlier and together we had two lovely boys. Days went by and life was wonderful, what could possibly be missing? I have believed in God for as long as I can remember, it had always been natural to me. I was christened as a baby, I had my confirmation in my teens, I went to church on a regular basis and at Senior High School I went to a Christian school. After that along the way I stopped going to church and I did not speak to the Lord very often. My faith was always there but I did not have a relationship with God…

Then in late August 2012 I went to `Let´s Rock the House´ a special meeting at Smyrna church where my mother is a member of Smyrna International. It was an evening full of worship. It was absolutely wonderful, so fulfilling and I felt the Lords presence, which I hadn´t for many years. It filled me so with warmth and happiness that I started crying and I could not stop… But it felt so good.

I met some wonderful people that evening some of them are definitely friends for life! I went to Smyrna International Church´s Sunday Celebration the following Sunday and I knew what I had been missing. The joy, warmth, happiness of fellowship and most of all my relationship with our Lord.
I am so happy that I went to Lets Rock the House with my mum that evening in August. She had asked me to come with her many times before but I always had other plans etc. But this time I came along, it was meant to be.

Now two years later on this coming Sunday I will be baptized in water, finally, something I thought about some years ago but never came around to doing.

But now, this is the right time! I don´t even want to think “If” as in if I had never gone to Smyrna that evening in August 2012, where would I be now if not?

I am so blessed to be where I am in my life right now. I have the most wonderful husband, our boys and most of all I have Jesus in my life again.

So remember, even if you wander off, God believes in you and waits for you to find you path back, He is there even when you think that you are all alone. And he welcomes you with open arms when you return.

Psalm 103:1-5

Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
