Our volunteer of the month is none other than our wonderful prayer warrior, Nii Addo. Nii has been serving in the intercessory ministry for as long as I can remember. He has always considered others in prayer, standing in the gap for the church and the world at large together with the intercessors team.

Nii also puts together a monthly prayer calendar which enables the congregation to be guided in prayer as well as to be united in prayer.

What is your area of service? A prayer warrior

Why choose to serve in that specific Ministry? In accordance with Galatians 6:2 to carry each other’s burden in prayer and also as a basic and principal Christian faith requirement to pray without ceasing.

When do you serve in this ministry? Generally, at all-time as an individual. But specifically with the Christian brothers and sisters in church on Fridays and Sundays between the hours of 19.00 to 20.30 and 14.00 and 15.00 respectively.

How does it work? We gather together with one faith and believe worshiping God in truth and spirit with songs, sharing a word of encouragement from the word of God and standing in the Gap for our neighbour’s needs and ours as well. This is usually done after a moment of fasting. Finally we fellowship together. This is basically on Fridays.

On Sundays we meet at 14.00 -14:05 opening prayer and worship 14:06-14:26 brief word of encouragement 14:30-14:50 interceding for the service.

How much Preparation? An unlimited time but seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit.

Time in the church building? 13:55

What do you enjoy most? When a prayer request is answered.

A tricky moment…? When a prayer request is not answered after a high level of expectation. One must continue to believe, pray and offer a word of encouragement.

Anything to bare in mind  prior to serving? More of Christ and others and less of you.

Any evidence of God’s Presence? Yes. Prayers are answered before our very eyes.

How do you keep a balance between your daily responsibilities and your voluntary service of ministry? By planning and total dependence on the Holy Spirit

Do you fill fulfilled serving in this ministry?  I have not arrived yet but striving to fulfil.
