A BIGGER picture

I meet people all the time that wonder if they really make a difference, or rather, if they CAN make a difference.

The biggest lie people are blinded with today is that they can´t. That it really doesn´t matter if I exist or not. Many people have really not understood that they CAN make a difference, and that the possibility to do so lies just around the corner.

It really all comes down to seeing a bigger picture. Not limiting my abilities, but instead opening my eyes, sharpening my senses and understanding for maybe the first time in my life that a bigger picture is what I am called to paint.

One of my favorite motto is: You only have one life, make sure you live it well!

What a waste it would be if your days and years passed without you making the difference to your environment that you are created to make.

Listen….you have a bigger picture to paint…so go ahead and dip your paintbrush!

One of my absolute favorite bible passages is from the New Testament when Jesus invites His group of followers to go ahead and paint a bigger picture. A bigger picture than what they ever could have imagined they would be a part of painting.

In Matthew 28 Jesus says: 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

And in Acts chapter 1 He leaves these words: But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

We have to understand that these followers of Jesus had never done any of this before in their lives. They had basically zero previous experience of painting a bigger picture.

They were used to doodling and sketching small pictures, but nothing of this magnitude that Jesus was saying He could see they had potential to do.

When they did start to dare and paint it had an incredible result on their society and the then known world, and you know what. If you paint your bigger picture then you can effect and shake the world around you too!

Jesus mentoring words are: “You can paint a bigger amazing picture!” And if we happen to be of the more careful kind, He then adds in Matthew 28 “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

So remember this week, you are here to make a difference. Go on and paint a difference, paint your bigger picture!

Have a great week,

/Mark
