You can make a difference

I have been reminded recently just how easy it is to make a difference in someone´s life.

It really doesn´t demand too much from you, it´s all about your state of mind. If you want to make a difference you really can.

Basically all you have to do is decide, preferably at the beginning of your day, yes, even before you get out of bed. Say: “Today, I want to make a difference in somebodies life”.

This creates the spring-board of opportunities. No limits. Next step is to be aware, have your eyes and ears open, take a good look at those you meet and see whether there is something small or big you could do to “make their day”.

In the New Testament and especially the first four books, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John we get to follow Jesus and His disciples at pretty close range.

Jesus main goal in life was to make a difference that would last both for the rest of people´s lives here on earth but also launching into the eternal.

He spent His precious time with those that needed a difference. He sat down, He talked, He touched, He healed, He hugged, He cried with, He laughed with….He made a difference in people´s lives. In the lives of those that thought they were worthless.

You may not be Jesus, but if you are a Christian you actually have the privilege and opportunity to spread the same kind of difference that Jesus did.

Decide in the coming week to join me and every morning declare: “I want to make a difference in somebodies day today!”

The Starfish Story

A young girl was walking along a beach upon which thousands of starfish had been washed up during a terrible storm. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up, and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement. She had been doing this for some time when a man approached her and said, “Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!”

The girl seemed crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!”

The old man looked at the girl inquisitively and thought about what she had done and said. Inspired, he joined the little girl in throwing starfish back into the sea. Soon others joined, and all the starfish were saved.

Have a great week making a difference !
