LOVE GOTHENBURG

What an amazing week it has been, the second of our annual week 33 event entitled “Love Gothenburg”. It has been a week where we, the church, have gone on the streets to spread the love of Jesus.

Moreover, we’ve been sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through one-on-one evangelism, testimonies, spoken word and song. We have reconciled people to a relationship with God, prayed for others, had progressive conversations and much more that we probably aren’t even aware of…by God’s grace.

God was very present and I can say, a lot happened. I was particularly moved by a young Swedish man who together with his friends passed by the bus cafe’. When I started talking to him, he seemed unserious but after chatting for a couple of minutes, God led me to say specific things and pray for him in a way that was personal to him (I obviously wasn’t mindful of the extent to which he had been touched).

The next day he had determined to come to the bus cafe’ to hear more about this God. However, he was confronted by some major challenges that were somewhat hindering his return decision but he was anyway able to overcome. As we sat together chatting with him asking question upon question with the intrigue of a child mixed with the suspicion of a scholar, he finally decided to give Jesus a try!

Today I met him in order to give him some follow up material and I was more than sure he would have a testimony. True to my expectations, in the course of two days, this guy has already started to see God manifest in His life because he dared to whole heartedly immerse himself in the love of God through Jesus Christ. He had a profound story of an encounter with God and is already repenting from his previous ways through the power of the Holy Spirit (God the Spirit)…i’m so elated to say the least!!!

It’s amazing how simple and powerful the truth is. You see, God’s desire is that none should perish but that all men would come to the saving knowledge of Him. God desires that all men would be reconciled to Him through Jesus Christ, surrendering to His will and to His way and  declaring Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Then and only then can mankind begin to live.

If you are reading and are a believer of Jesus Christ, I encourage you to share the gospel of Christ to as many as you meet for the gospel is the power of God that brings salvation to all who believe. So many have never heard the pure gospel but a form of it. Let God be God!!

If you are not a believer, I urge you to dare to taste that God is good. How else will you ever know apart from really committing to Him with your whole heart? Submit to God, draw near to Him and He will draw near to You. Realise that you were created by Him and for Him and only through Him do you find your purpose. For more information, you can reach us by filling in the form on our contact page and we will get back to you.

I leave you with these words, “Jesus loves you and so do I!!” <3
