Faith

This month’s women’s meeting was inspiring as we focused on faith and what it means to each one of us, as Christians. It was lovely to listen to the different experiences and expressions of faith in the lives of each woman who was present. (If you desire some fellowship with other women, welcome to our monthly meetings every first Saturday of the month where we connect by sharing our lives of faith in God…check out http://www.smyrnainternational.com/womens-ministry/)

Well, coming back to the topic of faith, so much can be said about it  but i’ll only touch on a few nuggets…

Faith is a lifestyle!
This is no surprise as it is a reiteration of the bible which clearly states that we walk by faith and not by sight. Faith is the sight of the believer…what we see in the natural is not our reality, our reality is what we see by faith (in the spirit) through the word of God. Thus, whatever happening or situation we face on a daily basis that is contrary to the word of God, we will not accept it as our truth but will instead activate God’s word and lordship through faith.

The path of faith is at most times the uncommon route that makes no sense, dimming you foolish to the onlookers. The walk of faith will require strides that go against normal steps, making you stand out as peculiar. The talk of faith causes you to say things that are not as though they are, putting you in the weirdo box. The journey of faith can be the most lonesome and uncomfortable, causing mockery and rejection.

However, the good news is: faith in God NEVER disappoints!!!
It grows your relationship with God.
It overcomes the world!
It develops other virtues…patience, joy, obedience, love.
It builds character!

Faith in God starts when you open your heart to a relationship with Him through believing in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as your Lord and Saviour, in total submission to Him. As you continue to apply your faith, believing and acting on who He is and what He says, your faith will grow from one level to another as you realise God’s holiness; who He is, is what He says, is what He does!!!

Step by step, while looking back at what God has brought you through, you will be able to have faith for bigger things. You will grow into a fearless victorious Christian who is not moved by what he sees. A man who can do the impossible and see the invisible, showing off the character of God.

I encourage us to stretch our faith this week. Whether it be as small as a mustard seed or as big as a coco de mer, put it into action and see what God will do! Let’s open the doors to an active faith in God that bears fruit!!

PS: Feel free to add below, an experience of faith that bore fruit.

Hebrews 11, Mark 11:12-25, James 2:14-26
