Stuck

Have you ever been stuck? Many years ago my brother and I were going fishing at a neighbours pond and had to cut across their field. There had been a lot of rain and there were some ruts from the other people going back to the pond. What we were not told was that the neighbours got stuck going back to the pond the day before.

The rest as they say is history. We got stuck in almost the same spot as them. Our wellington boots were stuck in the mud and we were covered in mud, we ended up with mud everywhere and we were going nowhere. There is nothing like the feeling of having no control and little ability to get out of the situation. With enough pushing and pulling and a little creative thinking from a close by farmer and his tractor we were able to get out of the mess. Needless to say we gave up on going fishing.

People have a tendency to get stuck in various patterns of life.
– Stuck in financial difficulty
– Stuck in a job they hate
– Stuck in a powerful addiction
– Stuck in the same area they have always been in
– Stuck in the same spiritual state

I know sometimes you may feel like you are the only one that´s stuck, but that is definitely not the case.

All around you there are people in a similar situation to you.

But let´s allow you to be in focus right now.

Even in the Bible there are so many examples of people that got stuck:

– Bartimeaus: stuck in his blindness
– Nicodemus: stuck in his traditions and legalism
– Zacheaus: Stuck in his greed
– Jairus: Stuck in his personal despair
– Lazarus: Stuck in his tomb

– Peter: Stuck in his guilt of denying Jesus

The one thing that all of these biblical stuck people had in common was that the journey to getting un-stuck was spelt J-E-S-U S

Jesus is so interested in our lives, even when we get stuck.

He offers to give a helping hand when you feel that life´s mud has really got a grip on you.

All you have to do is stretch out your hand and take His support, help and guidance.

Don´t fight it, be creative, do something that you have maybe never done before…allow Jesus to be a part of ALL of your life. Whether it be sunshine or mud J

Jesus says in Luke 4:18:

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me.
He has anointed me
to tell the good news to poor people.
He has sent me to announce freedom for prisoners.
He has sent me so that the blind will see again.
He wants me to free those who are beaten down.

You can believe it…..You can experience it!

Have a great week!

/Mark
