” Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.”

1 Corinthians 12:7-11

The Spirit is what works in us so that Jesus can be visible and known. God has chosen to allow His own Spirit to live and work in and through us for His names sake.
The Spirit is not meant to be seen upon as an option

for a Christian, rather you and I are called to live a life together with the Holy Spirit each and every day. God wants to manifest Himself through you! In first Corin- thians Paul talks about the spiritual gifts. The list is not
a complete list regarding “what there is to choose” but examples of how the Spirit can be expressed in our lives. Paul writes: “eagerly desire spiritual gifts” and a little later on in chapter 14 “when you eagerly desire spiritual gifts do so in abundance in order to edify the church”. We need to eagerly seek life and gifts in the Spirit. Not primarily for our own sake but instead to build the church and so this world can see who He is.

Desire more of the Spirit ́s life! Seek the Giver and seek the gifts! Expect the Holy Spirit to come and speak to you today and challenge you to take a step of faith onto the water to see whether it supports!

Prayer

– Pray that the Holy Spirit in a clear way today will use you to make the kingdom of God visible wherever you go.
– Pray that you and the church will even more function in the gifts and life of the Spirit.
