As a believer, the word of God encourages us to be prepared in and out of season. I believe that God wants us to be relevant at all times in the specific areas of service He has prepared for us. Moreover, our preparedness keeps us on guard from the tacky devices of the devil who roams around like a roaring lion, to and fro, seeking somebody to devour.

Thus, a lifestyle of intimacy with God is not optional as a believer! Walking with The Lord every second of every minute of every hour, 24-7, all year round. Conscious of His presence everywhere at every time. Sensitive to His still small voice…being prepared!

Are you prepared ?

Well, it seems to be a season of being caught ‘off-guard’ for me, lately more than ever before.

So here I am with my friend doing some shopping for an event. We are looking for similar outfits that are stage worthy and pocket-friendly for a group of nine. What better place to go than to H&M. As we find part of what we are looking for, have paid for it and are walking out in laughs as usual, a beautiful young lady who I realise is one of the shop attendants cuts me in my tracks. She greets me and I respond with a smile. Then she quickly says, “Please inspire me, give me a word”. In my head I am wondering what just happened but as I look into her eyes, I visualise her spirit and realise how desperate she is for God’s voice. At that moment a word comes forth which I speak out into her spirit firmly yet discretely by God’s grace and wisdom. (read the next part for the end of that story).

When I later sit back and analyse that and many other scenarios that God ‘randomly’ sets up, I vehemently recognise how crucial my relationship with God is to the world around me. God wants to touch the lives of His creation. He desires that every woman, man, boy and girl would experience His love and power. He longs for an intimate relationship with The Nations. He yearns to see His handiwork live a life of purpose!

For this revelation, reconciliation, restoration, and realignment to take place, God needs His children, we the believers, to administer the various works of service. We thus need to be prepared at all times.

Let us not sabotage the move of God by being unprepared!
